Dr. Andy Mencarelli

Veterinarian | Practice Owner

Andy has been involved with the clinic since 1998 and became a partner in 2000 and full owner in 2007. He lives in Didsbury with his wife Tina and two kids Marc & George. He has two Lab dogs name Ted and Martha along with two cats, Blueberry and Pigeon as well as two budgies. Andy enjoys sports outside of the clinic including Rugby and Lacrosse. He enjoys time with his family and is actively engaged with the community through various organizations.

Dr. Janice Reid

Veterinarian | Practice Owner

Janice grew up on a family farm just north of Cremona. She has had a passion for working with animals her entire life and currently owns a miniature dachshund named Theo (aka Weiner). Janice is a mixed animal veterinarian and is a part owner of Didsbury Veterinary Services. In her spare time she enjoys riding horses, hiking, playing her cello and now enjoys the new addition of her son Reid to the family.

Dr. Emma Jerome Smith


Emma is a Calgary native who has always enjoyed working with animals, both large and small. From a young age, she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian and graduated from the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. Emma enjoys the diversity that comes with working in mixed practice. Her veterinary interests include small animal internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and beef cattle medicine. When she’s not at the clinic, you can find her on the softball diamond, whether she is playing fastball or umpiring.

Dr. Noeline Erickson


Noeline has been working part time for Didsbury Veterinary Services since 2001. Among other things, she is the resident acupuncturist. When she's not at the clinic, she is working on her farm in Bergen with her husband Brent. She enjoys horseback riding in the mountains, gardening and spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Susan Heppner

Practice Manager

Susan grew up in Didsbury and now lives here with her husband, their 3 children, and their cat, Maple. Her favourite part of working at the clinic is getting to know our clients and their pets. When she’s not working, Susan enjoys watching her kids play sports, and spending time with her friends and family.

Karla Quantz

Registered Veterinary Technician

Karla grew up just outside of Didsbury on a farm but currently resides right in town. Between time spent at the clinic and time spent managing the cattle operation on the farm- her days end up pretty busy! Her fur family currently includes a very energetic yellow lab- Darby and an equally fiesty gray tail-less cat Gabby!

Lindsay LaGrange

Registered Veterinary Technician

Lindsay grew up in a small town called Aurora, Ontario. Her passion for animals started as a young girl and led her to completing her Bachelor of Science at the University of Guelph in 2009. Life brought her out to Alberta in 2011, where she met her husband and has called this place home ever since. Lindsay graduated from the Olds College AHT program in 2018, and continues to live in Olds with her husband, their newborn son, and their 3 cats and 2 dogs (all rescues!). Lindsay is the resident cat-fanatic at Didsbury Vet, but enjoys working with all species big and small, which makes mixed practice a perfect fit. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, yoga, horseback riding, and exploring the outdoors. Lindsay is currently on maternity leave, enjoying becoming a mom!

Leah Gray

Technician Assistant

Leah joined the clinic in December of 2020 and currently lives in Airdrie with her family, 2 year old Cat “Diesel”, and 10 year old chocolate lab “Duke”. She has lived in Alberta her whole life and has no plans of ever leaving; she’s an Alberta girl through and through! Leah attended the VTA program at Olds College and graduated December of 2020. When not at work you can find Leah hanging out with her boyfriend, in the mountains camping, off-roading, fixing cars, fishing, and hiking.

Sawyer Daley

Technician Assistant

Sawyer grew up on her family's farm near Carstairs, AB raising Simmental cattle. Since 2 years of age, she has participated extensively in 4-H and other junior and national events showing and judging livestock across western Canada and Montana. After high school she obtained a Management Degree followed by an Early Childhood Education diploma, then travelled and worked abroad for a few years. Now working at DVS to gain hands on experience prior to attending school in the upcoming year to become a Registered Vet Technician, Sawyer is excited to be mentored by the amazing staff at the clinic and apply her learnings to the daily operations at home on the farm.

Sam Taylor


Sam started at the clinic in 2019, but has called Didsbury "Home" since 2007. She lives in town with her fiancé, his 2 children and their cat, "Natas". Her favorite part about working at the clinic is interacting with the clients and learning every day about the animals and cases. When Sam is not at the clinic, you can find her at the golf course, camping, or hanging out with her friends and family.


Melanie Iversen


Melanie is a receptionist here at Didsbury Veterinary Services. She is so grateful to be part of this great team; she has previously worked as a tech and really enjoys being back in the veterinary field. In her free time she enjoys reading, kayaking and enjoying the sunshine on her deck. She lives right here in Didsbury with her husband, their three teenagers, and their three dogs, two cats and her son’s snake, Jeremy. 


Kelsey Sawatzky


Kelsey started at the clinic in 2020 after calling Didsbury her home for 3 years. She lives in town with her husband, son and their two labradors, Maple and Willow. She also has two cats, Pepper and a polydactyl cat named Vitani. Her favourite part of working at the clinic is getting to know all of the pets and their wonderful owners. When not at work, you can find her working her second job as a photographer or hanging out with her family.
